The LiveWrite API is a PCR Educator module that allows authorized API users to automate data imports into the PCR Educator database using SOAP-based web service calls. LiveWrite API provides a structured approach for retrieving import definitions, validating data, and performing insert or update operations.

All requests to LiveWrite API require a valid PCR Educator user with API Full, DBA Full and Security Full roles. These permissions ensure that only authorized users can write or modify data.

Note: LiveWrite API functionality is executed through the same PCR Educator backend used for Web Services: DataLine.

Note: The school name can be accessed through your Campus bookmark link (scn=schoolname)

The LiveWrite API provides SOAP-based operations that allow applications to:
  • Discover available import types
  • Retrieve required fields for each import
  • Retrieve available import parameters
  • Validate data before importing
  • Insert new data (Import)
  • Update existing data (Update)
Endpoint:
