The Admission Process

Northwood School seeks applications from young men and women who are academically engaged, thoughtful, positive, curious, and motivated.

There are four steps in applying to Northwood School:

Step 1

 Inquire

Create an online account through our online Inquiry Form.  This allows you to receive information about our school and for us to learn basic information about you.

Step 2

 Schedule an Interview

The best way to explore Northwood School is to visit campus and experience the program.  An interview with an admission officer is a required piece of the application process.  Please contact the Admissions Office at 518-523-3382 or admissions@northwoodschool.com  to schedule your interview.  If an in-person interview is difficult, a Skype interview can be arranged.

Step 3

 Submit your Application

Complete your application via Gateway to Prep Schools

We also accept the TABS common application as well as applications from SSATB.

Step 4

 Submit your Standardized Testing Scores

Register for and take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) at www.ssat.org. Indicate that the scores should be sent to Northwood School (school code: 5416). International students must submit a TOEFL test score.

The Admissions Committee evaluates completed applications and communicates our first decisions by March 10.  Remaining applicants and those applying after March 1 will be reviewed on a rolling admissions basis.
