Lake Placid Experience / Wellness Program


Northwood School offers the Lake Placid Experience and Wellness Program to student/athletes at Northwood School in the fall and spring seasons as an opportunity to be involved in fun-filled, health-promoting physical activities conducive to wellness and personal development.  This program allows students to take part in various activities around the Lake Placid region and Adirondack Park including mountain biking, horseback riding, snowshoeing, and ice skating, as well as becoming involved with the people in our region through community service.  Also, students involved will be promoting their own physical well-being on a daily basis by engaging themselves in some sort of cardiovascular activity.  Our faculty will lead you on an adventure that will teach you about the rich Olympic culture of Lake Placid while keeping you active on a daily basis.  Students will also have the have ability to visit and take part in various events and activities offered by the Olympic Regional Development Agency which includes wheel luge, curling, broomball, and biathlon.  This is the ideal athletic offering for those students who are new to Lake Placid, who want to learn about and experience the Olympic venues, who want to who choose not to participate in a competitive sport.  Take the challenge and experience Lake Placid to its fullest!
