Metro Christian Academy's COVID-19 Update page was developed to help provide Metro families with up-to-date information and viable resources for our school community.
Whenever yours truly (a native Michigander) moved to the state south of the Red River, I was introduced to some new vocabulary.

One of my favorite expressions was, "Y'all come!"

Down in Bryan/College Station it always sounded so warm and welcoming. A sincere invitation to all.

The Bible has several "Y'all come!" passages.

One is in Matthew 11:28-30.

"Come to Me ["Y'all come!"], all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

What an invitation!

Who among us isn't at least a little tired of all of this. Masks, civil protests, flattening the curve, ill and/or isolated relatives, and all the rest.

Leading up to the aforementioned invitation, we are pictured like babes getting to know the Father as it were by means of resting in the unfailing arms of His Son.

Here, we are like the under-oxen. He the lead. We the follow. Harnessed together. Staying the course.

Thanks to updated data and guidelines—and, thanks to input from insightfully partnering parents, you’ll note a few highlighted updates in today’s Metro Minute in our weekly-refreshed Return to School protocol

We know it’s not perfect. (We’re not sure there is such a thing right now, anyway.)

But, we think it’s really good.

Please hear that we are not making any political alignment or ideological statement. We’re being pragmatic.

We are committed to a Return to School as soon as possible, as much as possible, and as normally as possible. To that end, we endeavor for our return to be as safe and healthy as possible.

To date, God has blessed Metro. For example, no confirmed COVID cases all summer for Camp Patriot—with more than 1000 registrations!

We do not say that presumptuously or arrogantly. Rather, we need God’s mercy and we plead His mercy as our Strong Tower, the Great Physician, and all the rest that He perfectly is.

With His blessing and with your continued partnership and prayers, the best is yet to come!

For anyone that has questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. Our entire team is ready, willing, and able to hear, to listen, to engage.

Thanks to updated data, guidelines, and input from insightfully partnering parents, you’ll note a few highlighted updates.

So, let’s be prudent, practical, and prepared; and, let’s move forward safely together as we Return to School.

Y’all come😊!
